Bollywood Arrives at Miami

The Lori Brener Scholarship Fund of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami celebrated its 6th anniversary with a Bollywood themed gala at the fabulous Gables Estates home of gracious hosts Cecil and Ana Milton. Karim J. Alibhai, principal of Gencom served as Honorary Chairman and Presenting Sponsor, along with Co-Chairs, Renee Lopez-Cantera and Carol Chin. Guests were treated to an authentic Indian buffet dinner, drinks and entertainment. Gale Nelson (President and CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters Miami) welcomed guests and introduced Raphaella Alexandre, a “Little” from the program and recent recipient of the Lori Brener Scholarship who shared her heartwarming story of growing up in Haiti, her move to United States and how receiving this prestigious scholarship changed her whole life.

Diplomático Rum Wins Spirit Brand of the Year

The Diplomático family invited guests from the spirits industry, members of the media and friends to enjoy cocktails made with their award-winning rum and mingle. Diplomático is the first-ever rum to win Spirit Brand of the Year, one of the most prestigious spirits awards in the world. Diplomático Rum is renowned throughout the globe and served in 60-plus countries. The brand is a native of Venezuela and has a U.S. base in Doral.
