Cinema & Style

Miami Dade College and the Miami Design District present the acclaimed Fashion in Film Festival as part of the upcoming 36th annual Miami Film Festival, March 1-10. Curated by Marketa Uhlirova from University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins, this special Miami edition of the London fashion festival will consist of screenings, performance, panel discussion and chats that explore the intersection between fashion and cinema. This vibrant cultural hub in the Magic City serves as a center of high fashion, luxury and design – the perfect backdrop for the film scene. Creativity Outside of the Classroom

The City of Doral invites you and your whole family to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday with reading and singing at Doral Legacy Park on Saturday, March 2. This fun-filled storytime adventure takes place at 11 a.m. It honors the National Education Association’s Read Across America annual reading motivation and awareness program, which calls for every child in every community to celebrate the gift of reading on the beloved children author’s birthday. Health is Wealth

Enjoy a day of fitness and fun at the Doral 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, March 16. Celebrate health and activity by participating in this 3.1-mile run, kicking off at Doral Meadow Park at 7 a.m. Grab the entire family, jog your way to the event and stay for the awards ceremony to follow, where the winners in several categories will be honored – all ages welcome! Musical Legends Light Up March 

Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Roberto Carlos takes the stage at the American Airlines Arena on Saturday, March 9 for his Amor Sin Límite (Love Without Limits) tour. Known as O Rei (The King) in his native Brazil, the Latin music icon has an expansive career spanning 50 years, more than 500 songs and over 120 million records sold. Join the Adrienne Arsht Center in welcoming Tony Bennett, one of the greatest American singers of all time, in concert on Thursday, March 21. Hailed by New York Magazine as having a voice that “is still a technical marvel,” Bennett continues to touch the hearts and souls of audiences with his legendary vocals and unparalleled stage presence. A true international treasure with a bevy of ballads, big band, jazz and show tunes and a career spanning over 60 years, 19 Grammy Awards and the prestigious Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award – he will present a show you will not want to miss. Jazz in March

A weekend of art, jazz and great food during Carnaval on the Mile Jazz and Art Festival. The annual event held in Coral Gables on Miracle Mile, features Latin Jazz bands, scrumptious food from local eateries and an “Artist Village” with tents filled with paintings, ceramics, glassworks, sculptures, jewelry and even photography.
